Familiarity and a friendly face, for those requiring dementia care
Let Astar Homecare help you stay in a familiar routine in your own home.
A change of routine and environment can be very daunting for someone who’s living with dementia. That’s why more and more families are turning to home dementia care rather than residential care, so their loved one can stay in the place they know and love, instead of nursing homes.
Dementia care and support is all about helping you or a relative to have the support they need to carry on living in their own home. Our team of experienced dementia carers always work to follow a routine that you’re used to and comfortable with, maintaining independence as much as possible, and always promoting the highest standard of care and support for the person they’re supporting.
We have in depth knowledge of dementia in its varying forms and find ways for those we support to continue to live independently, whether that be a picture of what is in a cupboard or leaving a tea tray out. We will get to know you or your loved one and find ways we can hopefully improve your quality of life.
Our very own Gill Holden is a dementia care Champion and was heavily involved in creating a steering group for ‘Working towards becoming a dementia friendly Whitchurch’.
Gill is very passionate about dementia care and supporting families through what can be tough times and sharing knowledge of local groups for families in similar situations, offering free information sessions, putting you in touch with the right people to help, and so much more.
One thing we do know is no two people are the same and even if two people have the same diagnosis they are not the same.

What we do
We offer the support, empowerment and encouragement to live life as comfortably and independently as possible in your own home.
End of life care
We believe people have the right to choose where they wish to spend the last days of their lives with family close by.
Dementia care and support helps you to have the support needed to carry on living in the place you know and love, your own home.
Respite care breaks are an opportunity for carers to take a holiday or simply spend some time looking after their own needs.
Let Astar Homecare support your needs to relearn the skills required to keep your loved ones safe and independent at home.
Everyone should be able to be supported without the fear of judgment, transphobia, biphobia, discrimination, homophobia or stigma.
